Psychiatry Services in Naperville, IL

We provide psychiatric consultations and medication management for adults and adolescents over 15 years old. Both in-person and telehealth appointments are available. We also provide pharmacogenomic testing to help guide our medication choices.

Depression

Depression is a mood disorder characterized by persistent feelings of sadness or disinterest. The disorder, also known as clinical depression, can cause a variety of emotional and physical problems. Depression symptoms can make it difficult to complete daily tasks and cause strain in personal relationships.

Anxiety is a feeling of worry, unease or nervousness that is higher than expected for the situation. Depending what kind of anxiety you have, you may experience anxiety nearly all the time or in response to certain situations or triggers such as while driving, going to social events, public speaking and more. ADHD is a disorder of inattention, hyperactivity and/or impulsive behavior. ADHD makes it difficult to focus on complex tasks, limiting your ability to thrive in school and work. You may also have difficulty sitting still for long periods of time and may have a harder time regulating your emotions and behavior. It typically develops in childhood however may not be apparent until adulthood.

Those who suffer OCD may have uncontrollable thoughts that compel them to perform certain behaviors or rituals. OCD may take over hours of the individual’s daily life and causes significant distress.

Bipolar disorder is a condition of intense episodes of elevated and depressed mood. When in an elevated episode, one may experience decreased sleep, impulsive behavior, rapid speech, and delusional ideas. Often, those who have bipolar disorder suffer periods of significant depression more than elevated mood episodes.

Panic Disorder involves experiencing sudden attacks of intense fear or dread and may involve physical symptoms including rapid heartbeat, shortness of breath, sweatiness, shakiness, nausea. There may be little to no warning when and where you will experience a panic attack which can be very distressing.

Not getting enough sleep negatively impacts your mental health and your physical well-being. Insomnia may be due to other mental health or medical conditions, medications, or lifestyle habits. We use evidence based strategies and medicines when necessary to help with sleep.

As a new mother, you experience fluctuations of hormones during and after pregnancy which may significantly impact your mood. We work collaboratively with you and your other medical providers to determine safe and effective treatments to help you get back to enjoying your life and caring for your young one.
